The 2024 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute brochure is out, promising even more extras and post-institute training opportunities than ever before. This annual institute is an excellent refresher for experienced human resources professionals and employment lawyers, as well as comprehensive practical training for new human resources professionals and non-employment lawyers seeking to quickly understand the many recent changes in this field.
The annual Institute offers practical training on employment law and human resources issues from experienced national and regional attorneys. This year’s national speakers include top-tier representatives with three of the most important federal agencies rolling out new employment and human resources regulations: Jennifer Abruzzo, NLRB General Counsel; Carol Miaskoff, EEOC Legal Counsel; and Jessica Looman, DOL Wage and Hour Administrator.
The Institute offers more than 50 breakout sessions to choose from on major federal and state human resources compliance issues. Presenters in the breakout sessions enthusiastically encourage questions and dialogue about challenging federal and state employment law issues. This year, state law updates for Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and California will be covered.
The two-day Institute will be held May 20 -21 at Saint Paul River Centre, 175 West Kellogg Boulevard, St. Paul, Minnesota (next to the Xcel Energy Center). Organizers are also offering a Limited Online Replay of the Institute June 25-26.
Both in-person and online attendees will receive several bonuses:
- A new book, Hiring Handbook, 2024 Edition
- Online access to all session materials
